Before I speak about this absolute monster, I need you to understand that he deserves no sympathy and you should not feel sorry for this absolute monster. Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on August 27, 1906, Ed Gein was an American serial killer whose graphic murders garnered international attention and served as inspiration for a number of horror films and books. He died in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 26, 1984. Gein had a difficult life, (I'm not condoning his actions, I'm just stating the facts of his early life). Edward Theodore Gein, or as he’s most notoriously known as, Ed Geins, was born into a very abusive family. Edward Gein was born on 27th August 1906 to his religious mother Augusta Wilhelmine Gein and his alcoholic father George Philip Gein. He was Augusta’s second son, his older brother Henry George Gein. Early into the boys childhood they came to realize that their father was a no good alcoholic and couldn't keep down a stable job to save his life.This caused their mother, Augusta to hate the man, believing that he was a burden on the family. In Waushara County Court, Gein was charged with one count of first-degree murder. He entered a not guilty plea due to him being crazy and not being able to accept the fact that he really killed her. He avoided going to prison as a result of this plea. He was committed to the Central State Hospital for the Criminally Insane because he was deemed unfit to face trial. He was afterwards moved to Madison, Wisconsin's Mendota State Hospital. It took Gein's physicians nearly ten years to eventually deem him sufficiently sane to stand trial.
