Serial Killer Research Paper
On the 27th of August in 1906, one of the most notorious murders, Ed Gein, was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Ed Gein was the son of Augusta and George Gein. George is described as a “timid alcoholic” and Augusta was said to have control over the household. Augusta was a very important part of this killer’s life. Augusta Gein was a “fanatically religious mother”, teaching her sons “about the sins of lust and carnal desire”. He was found guilty and insane at the time of the murder of Bernice Worden. He was then again recommitted to the hospital he was once in. Ed Gein died of respiratory complications and cancer on July 26, 1984 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Nurture had an impact on Ed Gein. As a child he was cornered into isolation in his own home, his father was an alcoholic, and his mother was overly controlling. If Ed was more cared for, he probably would’ve turned out different. Instead of being so close to his mother, he would’ve had friends or even a girlfriend. Without that shift from the thing he had most of his life to nothing. Unfortunately, not everyone can have the comfort
