Edgar Allan Poe was a creative writer, poet, and editor. He was misunderstood but, loved by many people. I think that his personal life helped him become the amazing writer he was. He inspires me because his poems and stories are captivating and interesting. His stories are on many different topics. He is a major figure in world literature. Edgar was born on January 19th, 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. His occupation was a writer, poet, and editor. He went to the University of Virginia and the U.S Military Academy at West Point. He died on October 7th, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland. Edgar never really knew his parents. His mother passed away when he was three and his father left early on. He went to live with John and Frances Allan. Poe's first published book was “Tamerlane and other poems” in 1827. …show more content…
