The Life of Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was born on, January 19, 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts he was a famous writer, editor, and literary critic he died on October 7, 1849. His shady personal life and haunting poems and stories joined to make him one of the most famous figures in American literary history. He is known best for his poetry and short stories. Though there are many speculations of how Edgar Allan Poe died, I think that he died of an accidental overdose. This would explain why he was passed out and why he was listed as having congestion of the brain.

(Merriman) Poe is recognized by his famous most poem, "The Raven". Others may have read another one of his popular grim and disturbing tales like, "The Tell-tale Heart" or "The Fall of the House of Usher". Poe wrote numerous eerie stories about revenge, torture, and murder. Many modern books, movies, and writers have used ideas from Poe.
Although there are many speculations of how Edgar Allan Poe died, I think that he died of an accidental overdose. Some say Poe died because of alcohol withdrawal, delirium, or rabies, but most people believe that rabies was his cause of death. "No one can say conclusively that Poe died of rabies, since there was no autopsy after his death," says Dr. Benitez (Media Relations of UMMC) I believe he died of an overdose because after his wife’s death, Poe had suffered with depression and he might have used drugs to ease the pain. After taking so many drugs I think he had become impetuous and changed clothes, walked outside, overdosed and passed out on the ground.
