The holocaust began in 1933, and ended in 1945. It was the most tragic thing to happen in germany during the world war 2. The holocaust had to do with various fatal experimentations done by the Nazi army. The Nazi army was the unified armed forces of nazi germany. The army built camps that were originally built for labor but they eventually turned it into concentration camps or (death camps). One of those survivors goes by the name of edith fox and this is her story. Edith was the youngest in her family she had five older brothers and lived with her parents. When she was thirteen years old the german armies rounded the jewish people up ,she was told she was going to poland where she’d get protection and shelter and food. As soon as they got to poland the soldiers forced them to run and if they didn't they’d be shot .Her mother was killed right in front of her, her mother wasn't able to run fast enough so they shot her. She begged the nazi soldiers to kill her too but they instead forced her to work. Edith saw many gruesome things in the camp people with missing limbs ,dead bodies all over the floor. Women and men were seperated and by that time she never saw her father or brothers again. She wasn't completely alone her friend was with her she went by the name of leah. They were sent to work where all the toddlers of jewish families were housed they had to wash the diapers of 300 babies. The nazi soldiers came to poland to take all the jewish prisoners to concentration camps edith tried to hide but there was no room in the bunker so she hid with her friend in the chimney. They killed everyone in the bunker .They left the chimney and ran into soldiers they believed would help them but instead they were going to turn them in but the soldiers had a change of heart and set edith and leah free. Leah tried to go home but was caught and killed before she could. Edith was sent to Auschwitz. In auschwitz people were committing suicide by running into the electric fences because they couldn't take it anymore. Edith met a boy who unfortunately saw his parents get executed in front of his eyes. He told her to go to a certain spot once a week and he threw her over a package of necessities . The soldiers wanted to kill about 10,000 jews
