For example after killing Simon, the boys claim they, “ on the outside of the circle”(Golding 157). this is their way of not taking fault for what they did and not stopping it. Because they did not try anything to stop it evil triumphs in the killing of Simon. also while meeting with Samneric Ralph says, “ I'll lay up close in the thicke down there”( golding 191). later on while hiding samneric do not help out Ralph. they end up telling Jack where ralph is. this is another example of evil triumphing because they did nothing to help Ralph out.
