Poaching in Africa is pushing many native African animals towards extinction. Although, extinction is a major problem in Africa, it is the impact of the illegal poaching that is taking away resources from local villages. Illegal poaching also impacts local African communities because it takes away resources from local villages. This causes financial problems for people in the area and the lack of money leads people to turn to drugs and alcohol. Preventing illegal poaching and the negative effects on communities and the environment is crucial to the peoples of Africa. Poaching has caused many amazing animals to become extinct and has hurt the people of Africa. Mr. Sebunya believes that reducing poaching will not only protect the animals and the environment, but it will also protect the people of Africa from losing natural resources and from turning to bad behaviors when they have financial and other problems. As a group, we created a Go Fund Me page entitled Poaching Prevention AWF to raise money for the Foundation. In addition, we published a website, www.poachingfacts101.weebly.com that includes facts about poaching, videos, and ways to become involved with the effort to stop poaching. It is important to realize that poaching affects many animal species, including: African elephants, leopards, rhinoceros, and lions.
