How would you feel if you were made to pay for everything? On this essay I'm going to talk about the Treaty of Versaille which was the document that ended WW1 but was the spark of WW2. How did the Versailles Treaty help cause WW2? On my opinion, WW2 was mostly cause because of the Treaty of Versaille, to explain the Treaty, it's the document that ended WW1 by making Germany take guilt for the War and making them pay for war payments, and give up land and power. How much did the Treaty demanded?
The Treaty of Versailles was written at the end of WWI. The primary authors were France, Great Britain, and the USA. The goal was to make Germany pay and prevent them from causing another war. It failed miserably and this is obvious because WWII followed WWI. The treaty of Versailles puts Germany in such bad circumstances that they revolt and started WWII.
After millions of deaths occurred during World War I, a peace treaty known as the Treaty of Versailles was created to maintain peace as well as prevent war; however, coincedently, the same treaty that was made to sustain peace helped prompt the start of yet another bloody war known as World War II. During the end of World War I, Germany was forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles as punishment for Germany and her allies being the aggressors of the war. Reparations, the War Guilt Clause, territorial loss, and restricted military were all factors as to how the Treaty of Versailles helped trigger World War II. The Treaty of Versailles The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty that Great Britain, France, the United States, and Germany signed in hopes to end all war. However, the Treaty of Versailles did the opposite and caused WWII by angering Germany and making them pay war reparations. The treaty angered many germans by depriving them of their land. This is shown in Map of Germany in document A, Germany lost parts of Southern Germany, the Polish Corridor, East Prussia, and Northern parts near Denmark. This act prompted Germany to take their land back in means of war.
World War II The versailles treaty helped cause World War II because Germany lost several territories, their military and army were limited, they also had to pay reparations and they had to admit that they were guilty. World War II began in 1914 due to an assassination in the balkans that helped lead to the actual fighting. Leaders from around the world met at versailles in France to come up with a treaty. Prime Minister David Lloyd George of England, Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau of France, and Woodrow Wilson President of the United States all played a major part in the versailles treaty.
Due to the Treaty of Versailles’ instability, many countries were negatively impacted in various ways. These countries include Germany, France, Italy, and many recently established countries in Europe. It impacted them by ruining countries’ pride, economic situation, and power. In document 1 it mentions how Germany’s armed forces could not contain any military or naval air forces, stripping away their power as a country, which makes them more vulnerable to attacks by other countries.
On June 28, 1919, Germany and the Allied Powers signed the Treaty of Versailles, formally ending one of the bloodiest wars in modern history. World War I caused the deaths of nearly ten million soldiers and up to thirteen million non-combatants. Catastrophic property and industry losses occurred, especially in France, Belgium, Poland, and Serbia.
Just before the conclusion of the devastating World War I, which had taken more lives than any other war in history, President Woodrow Wilson and the delegates of the Senate in 1919 had conglomerated to come to a decision as to the ratification of the Treaty of Versailles, which had primarily been proposed to set forth conditions which would ultimately put an end to the war. Specifically, according to Wilson’s propositions at the Covenant, the Treaty would make peace with the United States’ adversaries by …; however, its major caveat was that it would divert all blame and responsibility for the war to Germany. This clause would cause several disputes between Wilson and his fellow Senators, which had eventually led to the vetoing of the Treaty
The decision made by America to not ratify the Treaty of Versailles was the right decision. At the time America was seen, and still is, a great world power. America saw the treaty was full of flaws and did the right thing in choosing not to ratify it. During this time America had built itself up to be the world’s strongest military. One of the points in the treaty was the League of Nations.
The clouds of war were forming during the 1930’s and even earlier. World War I led dictators to rise, and caused anger in many people. The Treaty of Versailles was constantly being violated because of the ineffectiveness of it and the League of Nations it created. There were many causes of World War II, however it can be narrowed down into a couple of things that really pushed it over the edge. The two main causes of war were Axis power aggression and the appeasement of Axis powers, because the Allied powers and League of Nations appeased them, the aggressors could grow stronger without retaliation.
On January 18, 1918, Woodrow Wilson presented to the government his Fourteen Points that, he believed, highlighted the nation’s passion for war. Under the Points were the ideas of self-determination and the League of Nations that helped strengthen the power of the Treaty of Versailles. It was both the fault of the Irreconciliables and President Wilson that led to the United States’ decline in the Treaty of Versailles and all things associated with it. While politicians sided against the strict guidelines of Wilson’s Points, public sentiment favored the ratification of the treaty. The politicians, conservatives and liberal, and President Wilson shared the same stubbornness concerning the changes and ideas along with the Treaty of Versailles
The Nazi Party was a totalitarian party led by Adolf Hitler that was active between 1920 and 1945. They believed in an extreme sense of nationalism, dictatorial leadership and Nazism, which was very similar to fascism. In the twentieth century, Germany suffered a humiliating defeat in WWI, they were blamed heavily for the war and had to face heavy reparations. As a result, the Germans felt very ashamed and resentment grew among them. The Nazi party took advantage of the upset feelings that were being created by punishments such as, the land loss forced by the treaty of Versailles, and started spreading the concept of social darwinism and used blame tactics to gain supporters of the Nazi Regime and expanded their power in Germany.

On November 11th 1918(the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month), the First World War officially ended. So this day Allies (France, Britain and USA) had a great joy. However not all the nations had fall in gladness. On this day nations of Germany had to feel anger and frustration. Also they had agreed (Armistice) to stop fighting during the terms of peace were consulted.
Introduction World War I came to an end with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. The treaty was signed to create lasting peace. The treaty was negotiated between the three allied powers of Britain, France and the United States with no participation from Germany. The treaty 's negotiations revealed a split between the three allied powers with France intending to weaken Germany in such a manner that it would make it impossible for it to renew hostilities. However, Britain and the United States objected to some of the provisions because of the fear that it would be a pretext for another war.
