Elements Of The Mise-En-Scene In The Godfather

One element of the mise-en-scene that I thought was effective in The Godfather would have to be costumes. When we're first introduced to Don Vito and his team, you'll notice that they all wear expensive suits and ties through out the film. Even men that weren't apart of the Corleone family still wore expensive suits. When you think of a mob, you think of dangerous men dressed in expensive suits, driving in fancy black cars and carrying gun. And Don Vita and his crew fit those charatistics perfectly. They always dress professionally and looked the part of a mob. I notice that the costume for Don Vita changed after he got shot. He not longer wore expensive suits. Rather, he is shown wearing a causal sweater and pants. And his hair looked untidy.
