The path to adulthood can be very challenging. In the story “Eleven” by Sandra Cisneros, Rachel’s emotions overwhelm her when an adult treats her unreasonably. Cisneros uses Rachel’s experience to develop the theme that growing up can be a challenging and emotional process.
