The story, Eleven, by Sandra Cisneros, is about a girl named Rachel and an awful red sweater. Rachel is forced to wear the sweater, although it isn’t hers. We can learn from this book to stand up for ourselves. Rachel didn’t and was forced to wear the sweater even though it wasn’t hers. She also got embarrassed in front of the entire class, and to top things off, her birthday was ruined. Rachel was forced to wear the Red sweater. This made her very upset since the sweater wasn’t hers, but the teacher believed it was. She didn’t have a choice since she was scolded in front of her class. Rachel got embarrassed. This makes sense because she gets yelled at in front of the class. She also starts to cry when she’s forced to wear the sweater. It must have been very embarrassing for Rachel . A quote from the text to show this is “and all of a sudden I'm crying in front of everybody. “I wish I was invisible, but I'm not. I'm eleven and it's my birthday today and I'm crying like I'm three in front of everybody.”” This quote shows me she must’ve felt bad and very embarrassed. …show more content…
