Wolves like to hunt in packs, or groups, and utilize teamwork to get their meals. With the right amount of wolves hunting together, catching their prey will be effective and efficient. For hunting and capturing prey, the ideal wolf pack size is approximately eleven to twelve wolves.
In the wolf group size graph, when hunting and capturing Elk vs. Bison, the percentage of successes reached its peak at around 40%. This is when there are only eleven wolves hunting in a group. In the wolf group size graph, when hunting Bison while attacking, there was an 100% success rate at twelve wolves.
