Her short story “The Demon Lover” was one of them. It focused around World War II, were she served as an air – raid warden in London. People in London were affected greatly by the events of World War II. World War II was not just another war. It was one of the most widespread and deadliest war in history. It involved over 30 countries and resulted in over 50 million deaths of civilians and military soldiers. London was just getting over World War I and then World War II came.
