America is made up from all different types of cultures from all around the world, such as Europe, Asia, and Africa. In America Street, there is a lot of different cultures in each story. Like in The Circuit, Francisco Jiménez talks about his family sharecropping and his opportunity and conflicts with going to school. The common theme of cultural, racial or religious differences appears in Sixth Grade, The Wrong Lunch Line, and The All-American Slurp.
With the Spanish Armada inches from England’s shore, Queen Elizabeth delivered a powerful speech at Tilbury. The Spanish and English had been enemies for years, and this was yet another battle. Queen Elizabeth shapes her argument to reinforce her right to rule as well as to invigorate the troops for a battle against the mighty Spanish Armada. The Queen’s use of diction and rhetoric successfully removes any doubt in her leadership and capabilities and energizes the soldiers. Queen Elizabeth’s use of diction is precise as well as purposeful.
Elizabeth was one of the nine first African American students who were to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957. Elizabeth was abused throughout her high school years for being black; she faced daily verbal and physical assault which led to depression and anxiety in her adult years. Meanwhile, Hazel, who also attended Central High School, was a racist white girl who shouted out racial slurs to the black students around her. Although Elizabeth and Hazel are very different from each other, one might identify with Elizabeth and Hazel about getting bullied, making mistakes, and social pressure.

Queen Elizabeth's speech was given at a time of great worry and upheaval. Her rhetorical strategies are composed of repetition, juxtaposition, persuasion, amplification, and diction. The opening line of the speech that reads, “My loving people,”(40), suggests a positive relationship between Elizabeth and her subjects. In the next line she starts off the sentence by using “we” thereby establishing a common ground with the troops. Elizabeth decided to make her speech an emotional argument, which instils a sense of nationalism.

Two Weeks with the Queen ‘2 Weeks with the Queen’ is a novel by Morris Gleitzman and is about a young boy called Colin, who is desperately trying to cure his younger brother of cancer. During this book Colin had to leave Australia and travel to England to live with his cousin, Alistair, for a while. Both of the boys started off as very immature and naïve characters but due to the people and situations they met throughout the novel, each of their personalities and views on life changed for the better. Colin started off as a young twelve year old boy who was adventurous and energetic, but he was also full of jealousy and envy.
Imagine being a 17 year old African American kid always being judged just because of his skin color. Everywhere you go you feel like all eyes are on you, especially when you go to a school that only has eight black kids. That's exactly how Justyce McAllister felt in Dear Martin by Nic Stone. In the book, the main character Justyce goes through a lot of conflict involving his skin color. Even though he has a full scholarship at Braselton Preparatory Academy, and is a very smart student, he still gets judged.

What Baldwin is trying to point out to the reader, is that this questioning of color is used to cover up who people really are deep down. Structurally, the tone scout uses towards black citizens creates sort of a vision of what black men and women would look like in this time. Scout is speaking for all black men and women when she is saying this, since scout doesn’t know the truth behind all black citizens she can not say this, because she is not standing in these men and womens shoes which makes her sound just flat out ignorant. Stylistically, The repetition of the word “typical” helps follow through on the theme of ignorance. Since scout doesn’t live with the black people like Dolphus, she doesn’t know the way they “typically” act. The repetition of the word “typical” makes the reader think that she knows something more than normal white citizen of maycomb, but she doesn’t,
