Queen Elizabeth made a law in 1562 having to do with witch hunts.The 2 types of witches are White witch and Black witch. White witches have been seen as help to their community and for healing. Black have been seen as witches who practice witch craft to hurt others.
Superstitions are fear of supernatural forces of nature or God reulted in superstition.Elizabethan superstitions came because they were afraid of witchcraft and witches. The superstitions affected the everyday life of Elizabethans.Shoes on a table is a sign of bad luck. Spilling Salt or pepper was bad luck to them. Also its unlucky for a black cat to cross your path.

One of the events was the outbreak of the the deadly Black Death when there was no medicine to help. They couldn’t find any reason for this they blamed the witches for the spreading of it.Just like whenever there were bad harvests, house fires or when the foods were curdled, the blame was on the witches.Elizabethans had great importance to the social order. In their view, every person and thing in the universe had a designated place and purpose. God was the ultimate authority under him was the monarch then a hierarchy of church. Nobles, aristocrats, and ordinary people also had their places in this order. society functioned right it was thought, when all persons proceded with the duties of their fixed positions. Crimes that threatened the social order were extremely dangerous offenses. These included religious opinions that conflict with the church's bilefs, and threatened religious laws ,treason, which challenged the legitimate government ,and murder. Those convicted of these crimes received the harshest punishment: death.
