However, many are much more aware and active in philanthropy than people realize. I know it’s hard to see past the negative press and the countless headlines that bombard magazine shelves, but countless incredible acts of kindness have become a reality thanks to musicians, and people all around the world have had their lives saved by them. A unique one took place in 2000. Country star Garth Brooks was in rural Collinsville, Illinois when he noticed a grass fire reaching a nearby house. Brooks evacuated two children who were home alone from the soon-to-be-blazing house. Garth saved two people’s lives right there, not with his music, but with his astonishing selflessness. According to ABC News, even after this astounding act of kindness, Brooks asked for absolutely no recompensement. Let’s fast forward to less than a year ago, in May 2017. Thousands of happy fans were leaving an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. Little did they know that a homemade bomb was about to be detonated in the arena, which would kill 23 people and injure more than 500 more. Less than a week later, Grande announced a televised benefit concert, called One Love Manchester. According to the promotional poster, “All proceeds will benefit the victims and the families affected by the Manchester attack.” According to The Independent, the event attracted almost 15 million viewers on TV and raised more than $27 million Canadian dollars. Ariana donated not only money, but her schedule to the One Love Manchester cause. Two weeks after the attack, she visited many victims of the Manchester bombing in their hospital beds. In October, country icon Jason Aldean had a terrorist experience of his own. Almost 60 people were killed in a shooting at his Las Vegas concert last October, while around 500 were
