Thesis: I agree with Emerson’s statement about individuality because you should never change yourself for anyone, you should love yourself the way you are, and you have your own specialties that should never change.
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” There are many people that want others to change who they are all the time. They put peer pressure on the people to change the way they live, how they manage their day, etc. When you put someone through peer pressure they break down emotionally. People who overcome the impact of peer pressure are stronger than the ones that were badgering about the peer pressure. I agree with Emerson’s statement about individuality because you should never change yourself for anyone, you should love yourself the way you are, and you have your own specialties that should never change.

No one is perfect in the world but you should feel good about yourself. I once got peer pressured to lose weight. Someone would always call me fat and tell me I needed to lose weight. I would just ignore the comments they would always tell me until one day when the person got a group of people together. They told me I was fat and very ugly. I went home crying to my mom and my mom told me, “You are not fat or ugly. You do not need to listen to anyone that puts you down.” I would never want anyone to be in the situation I was in. If you ever feel like you’re getting peer pressured, find someone who you can talk to it about. Always love yourself for who you have
