The Outcomes of Bullying Bullying is repeated acts of violence against someone to gain power or advance status. Often, the explanation behind bullying is insecurity or violence at home. Bullying can seriously affect people, with effects including anxiety, depression, sadness, and loss of interest in hobbies. In the book Egghead by Caroline Pignat, the high school outcast Will is at odds with the school bullies Shane, Devan, and Brad.
Mental health difficulties, increased stress and anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem are all common. Even after the bullying has stopped, bullying can have long-term emotional consequences. “She immediately crawls into bed, letting the books fall to the ground.” This is an example of a negative consequence of bullying. feeling lonely and alone.
After reading The Gifts of the Jews by Thomas Cahill, I was able to see how the Jews have truly influenced society today. From the progression of agricultural discoveries to the notion of human freedom, I felt that every idea made an impact one way or another. Of the many gifts that the Jews’ have shared, the one most meaningful to me is the concept of how it is our choice to decide whether or not we are going to allow ourselves to become consumed by the various sufferings in life. We should let these hardships “refine us...and to shape us into a fitting instrument for [God’s] revelation, as he did Moshe.” People should move forward, instead of being stuck in the past.
Teenagers will keep saying they are ok but inside they are really not. They refuse help from other people and try to face the problem themselves. “What I really felt like, though, was committing suicide.” Many teenagers today have at least thought about committing suicide at least once.
One thing that all the books we’ve studied in this year's honors world history course have one thing in common. The stories have focused on race relations. In The Kite Runner, it touched on the relationship between the Sunni and the Shia people. Charlotte had centered around the persecution of Jewish people during World War II. The Harlem Hellfighters focused on the discrimination that African American men faced in the military during World War II.
Anna North, the author for this article “An Easier Way to Fight Bullying” brought up issue another way to prevent bullying that occur in social media, school and public. She argues the important role of bystander can help to overcome bullying. The tone of concerned and disapproval have used in pursuance of bystander that could be anyone to interfere that type of situation. This article made to persuade anyone such as teenagers along with kids, parents and teachers to fight bullying.
According to Coloroso, some of the mental and emotional consequences that victims suffer are low self-esteem, loneliness, depression, anxiety, anhedonia, sleeping and eating disorders, and self-harm or even suicide (ch. 3). Although the bully may feel more included, idolized, and powerful for his or her actions, bullies also often suffer from negative mental and emotional consequences. These include shame, guilt, and negative self-esteem. Social consequences of bullying on victims range from the victim becoming socially isolated to being actively shunned, and the bully being feared and isolated (ch. 3). A bully is always the perpetrator of a cruel action.
Some of them is their friend and because of want something for their friend and make up something and becoming bully, and they thought them were their best friend but at the end they did them to them so, they don’t know what to do and they thought the best way to do is suicide. Some are really close friend but in each other secret they have something were not right and when it show off they know and might not focu on what gonna go next so they might also suicide. Some of them bully other but when those people get bully get the evidence and they bully them back like on facebook or tweet, etc and that can be a way to suicide
Depression is one of the outcomes of low self-esteem. They no longer want to go outside, they get away from the people they are close, and lock themselves up inside their bedroom. It then develops to depression that causes self harm and even death. It is like a domino effect or chain reaction where the cumulative effect produced when the mother abandons the child to the events following the
Bullying can make the victim feel hurt, afraid, helpless, and even guilty. They may feel the bullying is their fault. It can also make the victim 's physical and mental health suffer (Robinson & Segal 2016). The victim often thinks it is their own fault or they could have done something different, but that is not the case. Bullying is never the victim 's fault.
Bullying is a phenomenon existing as long as humans exist. The fact that it didn’t have a name for years doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a widespread way of behavior, in cases where two different types of people were involved ; the strong and the weak ones. Although bullying is considered as a form of aggression, or in some cases as an infringement of the human rights, “bullying is commonly regarded as an aspect of aggression”. Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. The main reason why someone would commit suicide or at least attempt is to eliminate their emotional, physical, and/or mental pain. “Suicide remains among the leading causes of death of children under 14. And in most cases, the young people die from hanging” according to Bullycide: Bullying Related Suicides. Children are more likely to see of experience bullying when they are in middle school or junior high. Because of their exposure, they are harmed in any way or form.
First, problems of the victim who face bullying can go worse when the bully torment the victim into feeling less confident. He/she will feel alone, not going to school, becoming sick or thoughts of suicide. Furthermore, students who cyber-bully or is self-involved bullies
For example if bulling continues at school and school doesn’t take action on this attitude, the entire school can be affected. Student may get anxious and tend to not like school. As the adults don’t take action and try to prevent bulling, children may feel that teachers and other school staff have little control over the students and don’t care what happens to them. Moreover Students who witness bullying can also be affected. They may feel guilty for not helping or scared that they will be the next target (gomasa, n.d.).
