Repeatedly in entertainment, the author provides many different points of view to display emotions and roles throughout the storyline. In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, she uses the creature as a display of loneliness and revenge, Victor as curiosity and selfishness, and Robert Walton as a leader and selflessness. In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, she uses the creature, Victor, and Walton to display a different scene and essentially a different book every switch between the characters. We start from Victor's point of view, he is a young kid with a good life searching for knowledge. Throughout the story, the reader can see that this idea drastically changes. One can see the change in his emotion and view from the reader between these two quotes “So much has been done, exclaimed the soul of Victor. The more, far more, will I achieve: treading in the steps already marked, I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation” (Shelley 70-71). In this first quote, it shows how he is hopeful and very joist about the future and what he will do. Now in this second quote, we can see the difference and how his character has developed thus far. “Like the archangel who aspired to omnipotence, I am chained in an eternal hell (Shelley 214). This quote shows how Victor changed from an ambitious man to a man of agony and sorrow. Victor compares himself to Satan, chained to hell because of his actions, Victor feels as if he is chained to the world and is hopeless because of what he has done. In the first quote, Victor says, “I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation”. The reader can see that he is ready to explore and is infatuated with his curiosity and search for knowledge, so in the beginning when Victory is seen or mentioned the story's emotion or POV is hopeful.
