The article "Employers Say College Graduates Lack Job Skills" by Lacey Johnson discusses the gap between new graduates' education, and their ability to optimally perform in the workforce. This article is based on a study provided by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools with over one thousand participating employers being interviewed. As a recent college graduate, I do believe that skills are just as important as education when it comes to landing a job. This article by Lacey Johnson suggests that colleges place more emphasis on general education rather than real life skills required to begin a new career (Johnson). I find this to be true, since most degrees offered at colleges do not have an internship requirement
