This paper will analyze Ennis Del Mar’s characters from Brokeback Mountain movie. This movie is about a relationship between two young men. They had met each other at Brokeback Mountain, and they developed their relationship very deeply. Finally, they became love each another as a couple, but they could not live together as they wanted because they both had their own way to live. For example, when Jack said that we needed to kill one sheep for food, Ennis told Jack to stop thinking like that because this was wrong. Therefore, he chose to hunt deer for food instead of killing employer’s sheep. Third, Ennis is also a diligent person. Throughout his background, he lost his parents when he was young. Thus, he has to work hard and make money by himself. First, Ennis is a selfish person because he was paying too much attention to his own wants and needs. For instance, when he gave his two daughters to his wife in the grocery store, which is his wife’s workplace, to take care of their kids. He seemed not care what was his wife doing; his wife was too busy working in that time, but he still wanted to leave his two daughters there. Moreover, when he went out to have fun with Jack, he left his wife taking care of their two daughters alone at home. He never listened to his wife; he just wanted to do only what he wanted. Second, Ennis is also an unfaithfulness person because he cheated on his wife. He married with his wife and has two kids together, so he should not cheat on her. When Ennis received a postcard from Jack, he should ignore it because that is the best way for him to stop his feeling about Jack. However, he decided to contact Jack back and met Jack again. He also told a lie when he told his wife that Jack was just a friend. Furthermore, every time when he said that he would go fishing fish with Jack, it was not true. In fact, he went out with Jack to have sex. Third, Ennis was not brave enough to accept that he is gay because he thought that everyone around him would not understand and would not open mind to accept same sex families, and he feared that people would judge him that he is a good person or a bad
