Mount Sinai is the place where Moses got the ten commandments from God, where the first to third commandments have to deal with God and the rest from six to ten have to do with a community (people). The story begins with the complaints of Israel in slavery in Egypt heard by God and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. God, then sent Moses to meet Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of the land of Egypt to the land of Canaan land that God promised to their ancestors. “God heard their groans. He remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (Exodus 2:24), and God also said that “ So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh. I want you to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. They are my people.”(Exodus 3:10).On the way to the land of Canaan, precisely at the foot of Mount Sinai, God again made the time it happens between God and the nation of Israel descended from Abraham. The God’s covenant at that time was complete with the statutes and regulations that run the nation of Israel that written in the ten commandments. The agreement is that if they abide by the commandments of that there was a great blessing to be received by them, but when they break the commandments then they will get the punishments.
