Overtaxing, or stress, puts an extreme amount of strain on the human body, and will slowly wear down the person’s physical and mental state. Countless numbers of people don’t take their stress seriously, and just push it to the side to deal with later. As time goes on, their stress builds up to result in chronic stress, feeling constantly trapped. Everyone’s body copes differently, that’s why there are numerous ways that work best for each person. Many types of stress affect people physically, emotionally, and behaviorally, but people can cope with it in many different ways. Episodic acute stress is seen in people who suffer from acute stress, but more frequently (Kelly par 3). People who have this type of stress usually have to much going on, they’re constantly on the go and never have time to relax and collect themselves. Episodic stress can often affect interpersonal skills such as decision making, listening skills and can also make them hostile towards others, and hurting their personal relationships (Kelly par 3-4). Kelly also claims that Episodic acute stress can be helped with certain lifestyle changes, and the help of a professional may be also needed before it develops into chronic stress and causes even more problems. Further more Chronic stress is one of the worst kind of stress you can have. It is the stress that wears the body down, and has people feeling constantly trapped not knowing how to escape (Kelly par 4). The American Psychological Association explains that some chronic stress stem from traumatic, early childhood experiences that become internalized and remain forever painful and present (par 9). Chronic stress destroys personal relationships and the body physically and mentally. Chronic stress really ruins your body, Acute and Episodic have a small effect, but can still be dangerous if not taken care of. Common effects of stress on the body are headaches, chest pain, fatigue, stomach upset and at risk for a heart attack , it is also proven that being stressed can bring on or worsen diseases (Mayo 1). The first symptoms are usually the physical symptoms, noticing pain that hasn’t happened before. As time goes on and the stress gets worse, people will start to see mental and behavior changes in their everyday life. With the behavior changes in the body, it is hard to control what is happening. The Mayo Clinic writes how people can experience overeating or under eating, drug or alcohol abuse, over exercising, and even social withdraw. Many people get to the point where they just completely stop communicating with their family and friends, which is not healthy for the body or mind. With some of those symptoms, it is hard for their loved ones to realize what is going on in order for them to get help. So many people at this point don’t get help and just suffer even more. The breaking point for everyone is when their emotions and mental state start changing. Several indicators of stress affecting the person’s mental state are anxiety, restlessness, lack of focus, constantly feeling overwhelmed, irritated or depressed more (Mayo 1). As the American
