Ten years ago, to the day Connor Thompson watched as his brother Aidan Thompson was taken from their front lawn. After growing up with the guilt of feeling like he did not protect his brother and just watched as he was taken; frozen in time and not being able to do anything to stop it. During one of the many meltdowns that Connor has been having with the added pressure of remembering the events, his guilt and trying to get through college, Connor’s friends Brandon Alexander and Jade Xia, decide that something has to be done to easy the pain of their friend, finally find out what happened on that summer day in upstate New York in 2008 and find out what happened to his brother. The trio create an extreme and unconventional plan to grab not only the attention of the police, but the attention of the media. With Connor Thompson pretending to be the mastermind behind of the kidnapping of an innocent girl with an accomplice set to do his dirty work when it was time to finish the job. Originally enlisting the help of the other detectives in the precinct and closing in on a suspect, he gets a text message from a burner phone stating that if he does not follow the directions given to him and come alone that the girl will be murdered before the police arrive.
