An example of the bystander effect that Darley and Latane coined is the kidnapping and torturing of Ilan Halimi. Halimi was a Jewish cellphone sales man in Paris, France. On January 21st, 2006 Halimi met with a date whom he thought was interested in him, but was actually setting him up to be taken by a group called “Gang of Barbarians”. For 24 days, Halimi was burnt with cigarettes, acid, and gasoline. His captures burned, beat, and stabbed him all over his body.

Mr. Griffin is unbelievably bitter and even the top of his class, Susan McConnell, is only receiving a measly B. After Mark Kinney’s incident, him and his fellow cohorts of the class, David Ruggles, Jeff Garrett, Betsy Cline, and Susan McConnell, decide to devise a plan to kidnap Mr. Griffin to he can get a taste of his medicine. Unfortunately, like most plans, it backfired in the biggest way possible. The team has accidentally killed Mr. Griffin and must now figure out how they can get away with this catastrophe.
He does this to get on the track team, which requires passing grades. Unfortunately, his grades are low in english. So, he will try to switch classes to see if it will help boost his grade. The consequences of this decision that Philip made has greatly affected himself and Miss Narwin.
By watching his mom stand up to people of a higher, privileged class, Jason is meant to be inspired to reject torment from the ‘elite’ of his own grade school microcosm(the bullies). In this section Marjorie was forced to resign her position from her school basketball team when receiving a letter from a student employee of the school; Marcia Arnolds. The truth is that Marcia was forced to send this letter to Marjorie from orders from Mignon. Before this event, Marjorie was enjoying her time at school and her relationship with her friends. She had not cared what Mignon did to her directly other than the fact that she continued to try to sabotage her friendship with her friends.
