History of the social sciences have made record of the different personalities and attributes that make up an individual. Having data can be of later reference to learn more about people and the way they interact with their environment. Studies in personality have helped develop testing and therefore able to have evidence about future outcomes. As a social scientist, Erich Fromm looked into the way people feel about their position in the world. He accepted that the world can be a corrupt and immoral place to live in. His theory about authoritarianism explains that people give up their “individuality” as the society continues to move forward. (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). In recent years, the United States has seen a drastic change in political powers within government officials and presidency. The political activities that have emerged has brought conversation within the country and the world. A study of the 2016 presidential election, shows data that Republican supporters favor authoritarianism positions meanwhile Democratic supporters prefer a leader with a personality and positive attitude toward minorities 210 (Ludeke, Klitgaard, Vitriol, 2017). It was clear that Donald Trump had a different view when it came to minority groups. He spoke out against groups which made others who had the same ideas have a voice about the issue. When it comes to electing a candidate in a democratic country, there are different qualities that are sought out to have a successful presidency. During his few months of presidency, people have seen his aggressive and narcissistic personality when it came to legal revisions. Personally attacking minority groups has encouraged followers with racist mindsets to do the same without the fear of punishment. It is obvious that he is using his power to abuse and accuse minority groups to have people thinking about the wrongdoing of these groups. The power that he reveals with others is intimidating to others of the opposing groups. Immigrants are afraid more than ever knowing that the President is out to take away the little that they have earned in the U.S. These are all characteristics of an authoritarian personality type, as suggested by Fromm. Even further, there is another political figure that has the authoritarian personality. North Korean Kim Jun-un is notorious for his totalitarian beliefs and ruling in that country. When these two personalities came together to discuss issues, it has brought fear and anxiety in the government. Both leaders have the personality type to
