Erin Caffey was an example of horrific crimes committed by children. Erin Caffey planned and helped execute the murders of her entire family. The cause of this was because she wanted to go out with her boyfriend but her parents stood in the way. As a result, Erin made her boyfriend and his friend took action. They killed Erin’s mother, stabbed her 8 year old brother Tyler repeatedly, and shot Matthew, her 13 year old brother. More gruesome crimes caused by children included a 14 year old boy, Joshua Smith, shooting his mother to death as she slept on the couch, a 15 year old who killed his adopted siblings by stabbing them to death, and a 15- year old girl who attacked her father with a hunting bow and wounded him horribly in his torso because he took her phone.

Many other responses also indicate how children learn from their parents and use their parent’s behavior to get in trouble. Parents need to understand that they have a huge influence on their child(ren). Someone said “...If a parent smokes, the child has a higher chance of smoking as well…”. And that is true. So it’s the parent or gaurdian’s job to make sure they raise their child right. Another person had a great example. It said “A 10 year old boy kicks a ball through a window. Say this cost 50 euros (or dollars) to repair. Does the homeowner have to pay for that? or should it not be the person who bought him the ball, let him out to play and could not be bothered going out to play with them?” This example has good points as to why it should be the parent
