Followed by the developing world and increasing pressures from families and societies, people had been lost. The sisyphean life creates a suffocating feeling to people. Due to the pressure, people started thinking about that seeking happiness could relief them from these torments. However, in the book Escape From Freedom, it states that “Modern man lives under the illusion that he knows what he wants, while he actually wants what he is supposed to want.” Every person is the separate entity, therefore there will be the different measurement of happiness, which caused a majority of people always apply external materials to satisfy themselves. In the “Art of Happiness”, author point out that “Developing a flexible approach to living is not only instrumental in helping us cope with everyday problem—it also becomes the cornerstone for a key element of a happy life: balance”(2601). Everything in the world are in some kinds of balance. From the politics to the universe, we can notice the existence of balance everywhere. Balance could apply in our spiritual world. Just as the plants, we need proper moisture to help it grew. Our spiritual world also needs moisturizing by ourselves. Some people gain knowledge from books to enrich their spiritual world. Some people use positive emotions to influence others and motivate themselves. There are thousands of way to help themselves, but the ultimate goal is to create the balances and avoid extremes. Living in the world with the altitude of being balances could help us to experiences the difficulties. When some misfortune had come to people, a majority of them will complain and fall into extreme sadness, which breaks the rule of balances. Instead of being so, we should find the meaning in those pains, which could prevent it happens again. The information that the author wants to express to us is that seeking the good things from the worst situation and finding the problem from the best
