The knowledge gained by students through participating in the delivery of actual construction projects maybe informal, but the development of both personal and professional competencies is of great value (Hardie and Love, 2013: 13). Hardie and love clearly show that the is room for improvement, there are details and challenges which can be worked on to better more prepare the students for experiential learning and to adjust to a more realistic level of expectations for all involved stakeholders regarding work-based learning (Olsen et al, 2010: 23).
