Taekwondo originated in Korea. It is one of the most known martial arts in the world. The purpose of this study is to identify the difference in kinematic characteristics in turning long kick of a male and female player. There are three phases in a turning long kick (initial, kick proper and recovery).

INTRODUCTION:
Taekwondo is a full contact combat sport wherein the competitors win points by hitting the opponents’ chest gear or the head. Tae-kwon-do was initially taught to the Korean army hence the discipline, concentration and respect factors. Tae kwon-do is built on number of fundamental movements which when put together and performed continuously, involve a high-degree of co-ordination and fitness. Both male and female participants have been playing for more than four years with experience of competing during their high school days. Informed consent was acquired from each participant in this study.
Experimental Design and Instruments: Participants were asked to do three trials of turning long kick. Each participant was given time to prepare before the skill execution. A quick warm up was done. Subjects did low high knees, stationary sprints and a few stretches. The video was taken in natural lighting conditions outside the UP Theater at 12:30pm. Cameras used for this analysis are both HTC One on standard lens with a 1080p resolution at 60fps. Cameras were set at the frontal and sagittal side of the subject; 244cm (8ft) away from the subject at a height of 121cm (4ft) above ground.
