“What does it look like in Mexico?”. That was a question I always asked myself. Then the day finally came where I no longer had asked myself that question. I was only seven when I found out I would be traveling to Mexico. It was in the summer of second grade when my mom had asked me if I would like to travel to Mexico, of course i said yes! With excitement.
A couple days went by and we started to gather our belongings slowly. I don't remember much of the things I packed for myself because my mother did most of the packing, but I do remember packing my bathing suit. I loved going to see my dad’s side from the family. Especially because I have a cousin who is my only cousin of my same age. It was already late at night and my brother and I were trying to sleep. We knew we had to get up early the next day to leave.
We just couldn't manage to go to sleep. We kept talking about how excited we were. I really wanted to sleep though. I knew I was going to be so tired the next day if I didn't head to bed soon. I thought to myself “hmmm maybe if i drink some warm milk and have a cookie I can finally go to sleep”. So that's exactly what I did.
I got up from bed and headed to the kitchen. I warmed my milk up and grabbed a cookie. I then went ahead and ate the cookie and drank the milk. I went back to my bead and finally i fell asleep. The next day my dad woke us up and i was so tired because of how late i had stayed up.
We got in the car and my dad started driving. The drive was long but I didn't mind. My dad had stopped to a gas station to buy my brother and I a juice and some snacks for the way. I was kind of surprised i didn't have a snacks because I love sweets and stuff like that. All I had was a sip of juice because I started to feel sick. My head started pounding. I had a really bad
