The University of Pennsylvania offers an elite undergraduate program for medical students. I am applying to the College of Arts & Sciences, which is known for being a forte at the University of Pennsylvania, a well-known school. The general popularity alone shows that UPenn’s undergraduate program can be trusted to help me achieve my goals if I attend. Furthermore, the University of Pennsylvania is a part of the Quest Bridge scholarship, which shows that the University of Pennsylvania is seeking the brightest students. I believe I am part of the group of current high school graduates who can be labeled as the brightest, and wish to surround myself with other like-minded persons so as to further my own capabilities and studies. In addition to an already great general academic experience, being able to enroll in the College of Arts & Sciences at UPenn would ensure that I am fully taking advantage of the opportunities available in secondary academics. I plan to take a pre-medicine approach to the school, which means I will end up majoring in biology, chemistry, or some other major that will help pave the way for medical school. When people mention college research facilities, the name “University of Pennsylvania” is always on the list, which stands to reason that if I want the facilities and opportunities to take my college experience into my own hands, UPenn is where I want to be. Having state-of-the-art research laboratories will help me to learn science and medicine in a way the few other students will have the opportunity to take advantage of, giving me the needed leverage to make it into medical school and help make advances in the field while others are learning out of text books.
