Anesthesiologists are physicians who focus on relieving pain for surgical patients. Anesthesiologists administer anesthetics which prevent patients from feeling any pain and sensations. Also, anesthesiologists monitor patient’s vital signs and administer anesthetics during surgical procedures. In addition, they observe patients after an operation, and during recovery, they administer the appropriate medications. They can also treat patients who have conditions that cause chronic pain. Anesthesiologists work in outpatient medical facilities, hospitals, or emergency rooms.
