Good morning everybody, I am zübeyir ulusan and my teammate is Sait ASAR. Today, we are going to talk about Antidepresants. Topic may seem difficult to understand, but we will make our best for you to understand clearly. If you dont understand some parts clearly, please dont hesitate to inturrept us and ask questions. We will start our prestantation by answering the question, how did antidepresants become part of our lifes? First antidepresant of history has been found in 1950s right before appearance of psychopharmocology which means the study of the effects of drugs on the mind and behaviour, The treatment of disorders, depressions, meaning psychological problems were limited and vulgar(barbarically). There were some techniques which includes shock treatments, comotherapyh, sleep deprevation and exc. One example which is very interesting of these treatments is to cure gay people in 1950s. Many people who should use antidepressants to cure their healths, reject to use antidepressants because of their fears. Some of them think 'Antidepressands make me forget my all problem and I will be like zombie'. This is one of the wrongest idea about antidepressants. Oppositely, antidepressants make your problems easier to overcome. . However, side effects of antidepresents are inevitable. Headache, low libido, nausea and some consantration problems are just some of them. If they are taken without any consult or under doctor control, it can be very harmful either pschological or physical. I should state that, side effects that you might have are nothing comparing to pschological problems. So we can understand that, antidepressant treatments should be uses only in crucial cases of pschological disorders.
