An epic hero being a hero can be defined many different ways. Several qualities like courage, respect, and strength can define heroism. A hero is noted for his or her actions for being brave, powerful, and acting with honor. In the epic poem, Beowulf, the main character Beowulf shows all of these characteristics by defending the Danish king, Hrothgar, and his people. Beowulf was a hero to his people because he fended-off Grendel and stopped him from killing any more of Hrothgar's men. This showed his great loyalty to Hrothgar and his people. This shows Beowulf’s strength, courage and fearlessness.
Beowulf sounded like he was a great hero to his people because he put himself in danger for the goods of others. I think a hero should be someone like him. Someone who is strong and fearless. Growing up my hero was my aunt, she was a very beautiful strong and fearless woman. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at young age. She fought a long and hard battle with cancer. The different medications, chemo therapy treatment caused her weight to be up and down, it made her long beautiful hair to fall out and I use to make her feel weak. …show more content…

But she continued to go to school and that following year she walked across that stage and got her high school diploma. Her courage and strength just amazes me. She never gave up and always finished what she started. My aunt use to be so sick but she still wore her beautiful smile and made sure I had everything I need for school, holidays, and birthdays. And during holidays, she would visit homeless shelters and Nursing homes and would give out goody bags filled with snacks and hygiene
