The Canadian Mental Health Crisis And The Organizations At Work Canada has numerous health benefits, however it also has the third-highest suicide rate in the industrialised world and spends only 6% of its GDP on mental health (Youth Metal Health Canada). In the following paper, we'll examine what mental health is and what two of the major organizations are doing to address it.
Mental health is described by the Oxford Languages as "A person's condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being" (Oxford languages). Through the use of this knowledge, we can recognise that an individual's psychological well-being has an impact on their physical health and is crucial to understanding their current situation. While they both desire to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, their respective objectives for addressing Canada's mental health crisis are different. The objectives of CAMIMH are to; establish a nationwide voice for mental health in Canada, to engage Canadians in conversations about mental health to decrease stigma, and to implement policies in Canada to ensure that those who suffer from mental illnesses can receive timely, appropriate care. They represent 16 mental health groups who work to advocate for health care providers, patients with mental illness, and their families. CAMIMH has been working along side the government to assist in boosting the budget for mental health on an annual basis in order to fulfill its goals and pledges. Additionally, they focus on formulating reports on the actions the government is taking and engage in media discussions of the issue and their initiatives. Since 1998, this organization has worked to improve the quality of life of people who have mental health diagnoses and those who are now having negative thoughts. They aim to offer young people with mental health problems a voice in Canada. By fostering mental health support, advocacy, education, and change for adolescents with long-term mental health challenges as well as needs-based, culturally competent, trauma-based mental health care, they are trying to help Canadian youth. They cherish today's youth and want to offer services that are advantageous to all Canadians. Currently, their action plan calls for offering workbooks, workshops, and wellness packages to youth in Canada, and advocate for training in schools (Youth Mental Health Canada)
As organizations like this work to build a better future, we can soon anticipate a better perspective on mental health for all. If their efforts pay off, they can help every young person they represent get the appropriate treatment they need without risking scrutiny.
