A celebrity, as defined by dictionary.com is: “A famous or well-known person”. Currently a brilliant voice or amazing guitar plucking skills cannot determine a celebrity. Furthermore an enthusiastic and appealing image is needed. Having an attractive look is all it needs to become famous, as the talent can often be assisted through various factors such as auto-tune, photoshop and playback. Even though one should not judge a book by its title, the exterior of a product or object is what catches the audience’s attention, just like Menderes did in my DSDS example. When entering a job interview, the applicant can be the smartest and most knowledgeable person ever, yet if he is not properly dressed and turns up sloppily, he will be most likely rejected. Many argue that Paris, Kim or even Menderes are “talentless” celebrities. But what Paris, Kim or Menderes did in order to become famous did require talent. They emerged out of the general public to become a celebrity. It could be considered luck or heritage. However in my opinion it requires talent, as you need the courage to stand out of the crowd, you need the voice to present yourself, you need the attitude to show yourself and you need the looks for the others to remember you. Looks should be considered a type of talent, as it is how you present yourself to others. Thus arguing against the given statement and changing my hypothesis, to which I, conclude that being a celebrity is fully about talent; as artistic skills, are just as well a talent, as looks
