CRYSTAL METH In today’s society, a lot of young adults struggle with drug usage. These young adults need to know the dangerous effects and prevention of drugs like crystal meth. Crystal meth is a pure form of methamphetamine. It is called “crystal” meth because of its clear, crystal-like appearance. Unlike most other drugs, users report that they became addicted after trying crystal meth just once. Crystal meth initially causes feeling of intense pleasure, but continued abuse destroys the brain’s dopamine and serotonin receptors, making it difficult to experience the same feeling of pleasure. The reduced capacity to experience pleasure encourages dependence and addiction as the users require more and more crystal meth to get high again.
