More than 736 million people worldwide live below the poverty line. This paper dives into the challenges of poverty, looking at the causes, how it impacts the entire world, and evaluating the existing solutions. Poverty is an issue influenced by economic and social factors, and while there have been various attempts to solve this issue, there is still more to be done. It can be difficult for someone to find a place to live, which will eventually lead to homelessness. A further significant cause is racism and discrimination. People of color and women are more likely to have low incomes because of this, and it can make simple tasks, such as finding jobs, difficult ones. However, education and healthcare have also had great impacts on poverty. People who lack education and healthcare can have difficult times finding jobs, which can keep them in a low wage job. Now that we have examined the causes, we can now dig deeper into the effects of poverty. Examining the causes of poverty shows a complicated link between economic constraints and social barriers, despite the numerous measures taken. The challenges of poverty can restrict many things like education, healthcare, and even the basic needs like shelter and food, these needs are all considered social factors. Child Tax Credit is also an effective investment that can help with the issue of child poverty. Other tax incentives, such as tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit, which are two of the largest anti-poverty programs, also positively impact children’s health and education. Not only has the government given benefits to those with children, they have also given public support to programs such as SNAP and WIC. Government initiatives represent a crucial part of the attempts to ease poverty, showcasing the approaches required for both the economic and social aspects of this issue. When examining all sources, I have a clear view of how poverty affects the majority of the population and how to deal with it. It is true that poverty is an issue that arises from economic, social and political factors. This paper shows the reality of what millions of people have to face.
