Gender Equality is the only way forward.

What is gender equality?
Gender equality is achieved when all genders enjoy the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making, and when the different behaviors, aspirations and needs of women and men are equally valued and favored.

Broadly speaking women and men have had different roles in the community for a long time. These differences are slowly converging now. However, physical differences do exist.

Genetically men are better adapted genetically to perform physical tasks. Therefore, the assumption that women can match men in everything is clearly flawed.

From the start of civilization as we know has always had the men to the physically challenging work like going hunting and going for wars. While women have always been portrayed as the gender who has always stayed at home and managed work that is not very physically challenging.
While there are things that men can do and women cant there are also a number of things that a woman can do that a man cant, the best example would be giving new life.
Each individual regardless of his/her gender has a role that they have to play in society. My limited knowledge restricts me from commenting on the stance of genders other than men and women in early society. To aid humanity the community needs to have all members as one unit.
