What causes the it-neisseria gonorrhea it grows in warm, moist areas in the mouth,throat and in the bladder. How it is spread is through sex,bodily fluids on an open sore and from kissing.the symptoms for males are burning when urinating, burning in the throat the symptoms start to appear after 2 to 14 days after infection. The symptoms for females are lower abdominal pain, burning when urinating, burning in the throat, itching in the eyes, bleeding between periods, swollen glands in the throat, spoting after intercurs. For females if this is untreated this will lead to pelvic inflammatory disease. For men if this is untreated will lead to epididymitis-a painful condition of the testicles,and making urination difficult. How can a doctor test for gonorrhea is by taking a sample of urine to be analyzed in a lab and then they take sample of saliva in the throat and then in 7 days the test will come back either positive or negative. …show more content…

If you are positive you will be take antibiotics to reduce the signs of the gonorrhea and the antibiotics will not undo the damage the std did. What you can do to prevent from contracting the Gonorrhea is to get you and your sex partner tested for it before having sex and if you or your sex partner has gonorrhea you shouldn’t have naked sex and both should have condoms. Another way to prevent from contracting the gonorrhea is to not sit on the toilet when there is recent urine and blood on the seat when you have open sores. The only treatment option for gonorrhea is antibiotics. Gonorrhea is not curable. Gonorrhea doesn’t all always have symptoms because it sometimes takes years to appear in someone and sometimes it takes a day it appear.
