Have you ever heard of the novel Romeo and Juliet? If you say no, then you are either lying or you live under a rock. This novel has affected literature throughout history ever since it was written by William Shakespeare from England. This is a story about 2 beautiful and loving souls that had such vivid and lively love that they ended up collapsing into each other, meeting their fates. They killed themselves because of other people’s actions. Friar Lawrence, Lord Capulet, and fate are all to blame because Friar Lawrence is the one that got them married without the parent’s permission, Lord Capulet made Juliet marry Paris which caused her to drink the potion, and fate because it is the cause of everything in the book. He is the second most guilty because he left Juliet with no other option than to marry Paris according to Act 3 Scene 4 as he said, “Sir Paris! I’ll be so bold as to offer you my child's love” He dares to offer his daughter’s love as if she was an object or she would go with the idea. He sold off his daughter’s hand in marriage in exchange for absolutely nothing. Furthermore, when she rebels against the idea of marrying someone that she doesn’t love, he screams “Just get your fine self ready for next Thursday, to go with Paris to Saint Pete’s Church, or I’ll drag you there on a sled!... You sick looking object! Get away with you, you minx! You coward!” Just being able to talk to your own daughter that way is bad enough. And after his own wife tells him he is acting like a madman, he replies, “Be hanged to you, you hussy, you disobedient wretch!... get to church on Thursday or never look me in the face again”. He also threatened his daughter by disowning her if she didn't marry Paris, which left her with no other choice than faking her
