Would you ever sacrifice your own life for a guy? Juliet did for Romeo. Everyone knows how the star-crossed lovers end up, but who do you blame? Do you blame Romeo? Or even Juliet. Everyone has someone to point the finger at. The truth is, there is one person who could have prevented the tragedy. Friar Lawrence is at fault for Romeo and Juliet taking their lives. To start with, Friar Lawrence decided to marry the two in secret, knowing that he felt that they were not meant for each other. Therefore, if he knew there would be complications and arguments over the marriage, then why would he marry them in the first place? Friar says, “Romeo, come forth. Come forth, thou fearful man. Affliction is enamored of thy parts, and thou art wedded to calamity.” This means he thinks Juliet is a disaster and trouble will always follow Romeo.
