Summary
There has been in depth research regarding the homelessness of African American women of the United States. Research has found an increase of homeless minority women in relation to healthcare and spiritual needs. Homelessness can discourage the need for care and the incentive as well. Spiritual needs for homeless African American women increases as soon as they become homeless. The basic needs of a human are essential for the survival of mankind. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs food, clothing, air, water, rest, elimination is the necessary physiology needs for a human. Shelter, safety, the security of: body, employment, resources, morality, family, health and property are the second most important need of the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Without meeting a few of these needs can cause a detrimental state of a person. Factors causing or in association with homelessness is varied, it can be from loss of employment, divorce, domestic abuse, and/or a recent healthcare diagnosis. The low level of education can increase the risk of poverty significantly due to the lack of resources and knowing how to gain resources. The limited jobs with benefits can cause an increase of homelessness. The mentally challenged can also be at a significant risk for poverty as well, which can lead to being homeless if there …show more content…

AIDs and Tuberculosis can progress easily in the homeless due to the absence of follow-ups, in which there is the difficulty in locating a person because of no permanent address. Unsafe sex practices can lead an increase of exposure to several STD’s such as HIV and AIDs (Gash, Washington, Moxley, & Calligan, 2014). With the exposure to drugs significantly increases the risk as well. We as humans has the survival mode in all of us in which we can consider a poor decision in order to have food, money, and/or
