Hunger Across culture hunger is a large problem around the world. Hunger is a major problem in poor places because food cost money and the poor people in those places cannot afford food. When a person is hungry or poor they would have family to go to but some people do not have family. In the world we should conserve more food for people who do not eat often. In many eyes hunger is not a big deal in America, but the truth is hunger is a big deal all around the world for many people due to money, family, and food conservation. Hunger has a relation to money due to food costing money that not everyone has. Money is not an easy thing to come across so it is hard to pay for food with very little money. According to the world health organization “19 million people went hungry in developed countries” (world health organization) this is a bad because developed countries have hungry people but developed countries have money to where this should not be an issue. In an article by Gracy Olmstead she explains “much of the food in our fridges end up getting trashed”(Olmstead) this shows we need to not take food for granite and save it for people who need food. Conserving food has been thought of but there has never been a sufficient way to implement it to the world. The number of children who eat over summer is not very high this quote shows the numbers “Only 3 million children are getting lunches through the federal summer lunch program”(quindlen) these numbers should be higher, the number of children who eat during school should be close to the same number as children who eat over summer.
