Jewish Observances

The Jewish communities, beliefs and holidays have always made me curious and over the years I noticed that Jewish communities seem to be very tight knit almost clicks. I have also noticed that Jewish people are very dedicated to their holidays and beliefs. There are some significant differences between Judaism and Christian culture, religious practices and observances in holidays.
While reading about the holiday of Chanukah which is also known as Hanukkah, they only difference H and CH. Chanukah began when Alexander and his forces invaded Jerusalem that first brought Hellenism with them. Purim holiday is figured out using a Hebrew calendar date of Adar 14. It begins on sunset of that day and ends at night fall the following day and in 2016 it occurred on March 23rd and ending on March 24th. The background of this holiday is when the First Temple was destroyed and the Jewish nation was exiled. God or G-d as referred to in Judaism; His people had to be punishing them in order for them to repent. He still loved them and sent Mordechai and Esther as His messenger and to protect them. The Jewish people began to realize who their true savior is and the nation repented and accepted G-d. This holiday involves reading Megillas Esther, which this holiday celebrating the saving of Jewish people from Haman. As Christians we have read about the saving of the killing of Jewish people in the Bible located in the Book of Esther. Today the deliverance of the Jewish people is celebrated as a day of rejoicing and giving thanks, which today is carried out by donations to charities, eating a special meal, daily prayers and exchanging gifts of food and
