“ Allowing 18-to-20 year olds to drink alcohol in regulated environments with supervision would decrease the amount of unsafe drinking activity.”(Britannica). 18 is the age of adulthood in the United States , and adults should have the right to make their own decisions about alcohol.The drinking age should be lowered because young adults can make their own decisions and it isn't harmful to other people as long as in a controlled environment. Also can keep kids from doing other more harmful drugs. First of all, drinking at 18 can lead young adults to not do other harmful drugs and teach responsible drinking habits. For example “At 18 years old we are considered adults and make responsible decisions. We are permitted to do many things that involve risk .” It can also lead young adults to not do other harmful drugs opposed to drinking. Another example is “Allowing minors to drink at home gives a chance for their parents to supervise and keep minors away from other harmful drugs.”The drinking age being lowered can help young adults tell their parents about drinking and also can let parents know what there doing and drinking it would also be harder to tell their parents if it was something worse. Instead of pretending that prohibition on college campuses is realistic, we should be interested in helping the young adults to make better responsible choices. The age being lowered can teach young adults to monitor them while drinking while in a safe environment. They will also be able to drink in a safer environment without being forced off the campus because of getting caught. The age being lowered can reduce binge drinking in teenage and college students. The drinking age being 18 can lead to healthier drinking habits and teach young adults how to be safe and responsible while drinking in a safe environment instead of hiding it from people and
