The story of Macbeth is a very strategically thought out book. Especially with the characters, Shakespeare was thorough in the influence that each has on the story. The main characters of the story were divided into certain categories to show how a certain character played the part of the story. In all of Shakespeare’s literature, there is a massive amount of death. At the end of the Macbeth, especially, many people killed and were killed. So for the first category, the theme will make clear who is died. To signify this I place a drop of blood on the name of the character. For instance, Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Banquo, King Duncan, Macdonwald, and the guards were killed by the sword. However, many deaths in Macbeth were by the hand of man. If a character, Like Macbeth, were to have killed someone then a red smudge will be on the name tag. The smudge is a reference to when Lady Macbeth could not get the “blood” off her hands at night. In Macbeth, the leaders are known as Kings, Princes, and Thanes. The second category is showing what rank of leadership each character was in. If the character ever became king during the story then that characters name tag will be in the shape of a thrown. In every culture since the beginning, the ruler of the land had a key adornment which signifies his ranking. Now, since each culture is different the adornment would not be the exact same. So to signify the greater power, the throne resembles the hierarchy in Macbeth. The other kind of leadership in Macbeth is the two princes Donaldbain and Malcolm.
