Pearl Harbor, the Genocide “The American people in their righteous might will win through to an absolute victory.”- Franklin Roosevelt. This is what the President of the United States of America said the day after Pearl Harbor while millions of Americans are frightened in their homes. Pearl Harbor was a sad day; many people died and showed courage in fighting against the Japanese in the surprise attack. We need to respect our country’s soldiers for their bravery. Japan’s motives for world domination lead them to Pearl Harbor, where they killed thousands.
First off, there are a few big details that you need to know about Pearl Harbor. to begin, this dreadful day happened on December 7, 1941(Pearl Harbor). The attack wasn’t exactly a long attack; the U.S. wasn’t prepared,for it only lasted from 7:55 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The Japanese surprised us; we didn’t even know what was coming. According to Pearl Harbor-the Bombing Facts, “A U.S. Army private who noticed the large flight of planes on his radar screen was told to ignore them because a flight of B-17’s from the Continental U.S. was expected at the time.” Proof of how genocidal it was is how many U.S. servicemen died- 2,335 of them(Pearl Harbor). The biggest reason for attacking Pearl Harbor was that the Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor’s fleet, was the only thing that stood in the way of Japan taking over the South Pacific. At first, Japan wanted to destroy China, because of their marketing, but it soon became much bigger than that(Pearl Harbor). World domination was their main goal. Another reason for the attack was our relationship with Japan, for at the time war was inevitable between us and Japan. The way we treated each other at the time is what sparked the idea of Pearl Harbor in their
