Poverty In Central African Republic The Central African Republic is one of the poorest countries in Africa, with a per capita income of only 750 US dollars per year. The parts of C.A.R that are affected by this the most are in Bouar and Bangui. The average central african adult has no more than 3.5 years of schooling. Tons of thousands of children never attend school at all. Five in ten Central Africans don't know how to read and write. The Central African republic is one of the world's least developed countries with over 60% of its population living in poverty. Malnutrition in the Central African Republic is one of the main and top concerns for the country. Nearly one third of the population is food insecure with 47.7 percent of children suffer from malnutrition. In 2008 nearly 66.26 percent of the population was living at less than $1.90 a day. But people are not just sitting around and not doing anything. The world food program has begun its first food vouchers program to assist more than 100,000 people affected by conflict. This organization plans to provide more than 1.2 million people in the CAR with nutrients for life - saving assistance. They are doing this program to help out with The Central African Republic because they can see that they are in no good condition and that they need a lot of help. Since half of the population of the Central African Republic has been affected with AIDS. An successful proposal which is mainly focusing on scaling up voluntary counseling and testing services , Preventing mother-to-child transmission and improving access to antiretroviral therapy was to the global fund by the C.A.R to fight AIDS , Tuberculosis and Malaria .
